9 Steps in the Standard Elevator Supply Process
Viet Chao Joint Stock Company is pleased to introduce our standard elevator supply process, built around credibility, efficiency, safety, and quality.

Step 1 – Consultation
The first stage of the elevator supply process is consultation. Viet Chao’s sales team meets with you to understand your needs and preferences and to survey the proposed installation site. The more detailed the information you provide, the more accurate our advice can be. We consider the expected number of users, frequency of use, whether the site meets installation requirements, any necessary adjustments, and whether the home or building interior is classic and luxurious or simple and elegant. This enables us to recommend the most suitable elevator configuration, including machine-room or machine-room-less design, rated speed, load capacity, car design, standard or optional technical features, and screw-driven, traction, or hydraulic drive systems.

Elevator shaft survey. Plumb-line measurements are taken from multiple floors and angles to ensure accuracy, ease of installation, and the elevator’s appearance and quality.

Step 2 – Technical proposal and quotation
This is the next stage of Viet Chao’s standard elevator supply process. Using the information gathered in Step 1, our design team prepares a technical proposal and obtains a quotation from the partner factory. Our sales team then sends you the quotation.

Step 3 – Contract signing
After a further detailed survey of the elevator shaft, both parties negotiate the contract terms and the deposit. The contract schedule begins once you make the first payment and approve the drawings. Viet Chao is committed to supplying the elevator in accordance with the signed contract terms.

Step 4 – Finalising technical drawings and placing the order
To ensure that the elevator suits the installation space and the customer’s requirements, our designers prepare detailed technical drawings. For non-standard elevators, the drawings are sent to the factory for approval. Once the factory approves the drawings and the customer confirms them, Viet Chao places the order with the factory.

Step 5 – Manufacturing and international shipping
At this point, the elevator is managed by Viet Chao’s Project Management Department. Manufacturing normally takes 40–80 days, depending on the elevator type and number of stops. International shipping takes approximately 10 days from China or 30 days from Europe. Our import–export team closely monitors factory production and international shipping to deliver the elevator on schedule.

Step 6 – Customs clearance
When the goods arrive at a Vietnamese port, Viet Chao completes customs-clearance procedures, including registering the import quality inspection, opening the customs declaration, paying import duty, moving the goods to storage, obtaining the certificate of conformity, submitting it to the Department of Work Safety, and submitting the import quality-inspection result to Customs to clear the declaration. Customs clearance normally takes seven days. These steps ensure that the elevator’s origin and quality comply with the signed contract.

Step 7 – Installation and test operation
Project Management coordinates the mechanical team to install the elevator. Installation requires absolute accuracy: plumb-line measurements for locating landing doors and guide rails, fixing brackets, joining rails, and related work must be precise for smooth and safe operation. After installation, the electrical engineers complete the connections, adjustments, and test operation. Throughout installation and testing, QC engineers from the Project Management Department supervise closely to ensure product quality and occupational safety. The process proceeds only once the elevator meets the standards set by the manufacturer and Viet Chao.

Mechanical installation
The mechanical installation process begins with an elevator-shaft survey and the preparation of protective equipment and installation tools, followed by the main installation steps. The process may differ by elevator type (hydraulic, traction, or screw-driven) and by building height. Here, Viet Chao introduces the most fundamental mechanical installation process.

Electrical installation and test operation
Testing takes less time than mechanical installation, but it still demands care, professionalism, and strong expertise in electrical engineering, electronics, and mechatronics.
With engineers trained by the factory over many years, Viet Chao has developed a detailed elevator testing process.
Step 8 – Inspection and handover
Once the elevator has been confirmed by the competent state-authorised inspection body to meet all applicable quality, safety, environmental, and other technical requirements, it is handed over for use.

Step 9 – Warranty and maintenance
Warranty and maintenance are the final stage of the elevator supply process. The elevator is transferred to the Warranty and Maintenance Department. The warranty period is 24 months from the completion of inspection or 30 months from the arrival of the equipment at the project site, whichever occurs first. During this period, Viet Chao provides free maintenance for the first 12 months. If a maintenance contract is not signed with Viet Chao after 12 months, the customer will not be eligible for the remaining 12 months of equipment warranty under the 24-month signed contract or for the elevator-insurance benefits purchased from PJICO Insurance Company.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What steps are included in the elevator installation process?
The process generally includes a site survey, consultation and configuration selection, design, contract signing, manufacturing/equipment supply, installation, testing and inspection, acceptance, and handover for use.
How long does elevator installation take?
Installation time depends on the elevator type, project scale, shaft conditions, and equipment-supply schedule. On-site installation typically takes from several weeks to several months.
When should an elevator be planned during home construction?
The elevator should be planned and selected during the design stage or before construction of the elevator shaft. This helps determine the required pit, shaft, machine-room, electrical, and structural specifications accurately.
What should be prepared before elevator installation?
The project must meet conditions such as an elevator shaft built to the design dimensions, a compliant pit and overhead clearance, a suitable power supply, and prepared fixing points and equipment-staging areas.
Does an elevator need to be inspected after installation?
Yes. After installation is complete, the elevator must undergo the required safety inspection before it is put into use. This is an important step for assessing the equipment’s technical condition and safety requirements.
What factors determine elevator pricing?
Elevator pricing depends on factors such as rated load, speed, number of stops, travel distance, elevator type, equipment configuration, car design, and the project’s actual conditions. A site survey and a defined configuration are therefore required for an accurate quotation.
